About the Project:

The first AIM processing facility is targeted to produce 1Mtpa of commercial grade sulphuric acid, with further potential to increase the acid production as new high-pressure acid leach (“HPAL”) plants in Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (“IMIP”) create furthers demand for acid which is an input to their production processes.

Job Purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure company compliance with all environmental regulations, manage environmental risks, and implement sustainable policies that minimize ecological impact. This includes monitoring compliance, reducing pollution risks, promoting waste management, resource efficiency, and emissions reduction. The role drives continuous environmental improvement through best practices and innovation, raises awareness among employees and stakeholders, and prepares transparent ecological reports. Additionally, it fosters collaboration with regulatory bodies, communities, and environmental organizations to achieve sustainability goals.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance with government regulations and industry environmental standards, conducting regular audits and risk assessments to maintain adherence.
• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management programs, including waste management, resource efficiency, and emissions reduction strategies.
• Identify, evaluate, and mitigate environmental risks by continuously monitoring and improving company operations.
• Establish and maintain environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001) and conduct internal audits to ensure effective management and compliance.
• Prepare comprehensive environmental reports and data analyses to support decision-making and provide updates to internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead environmental training initiatives to increase employee awareness and foster a culture of sustainability across the organization.
• Build relationships with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders, ensuring proactive engagement on current environmental issues and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in environmental management, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Certified in Water Pollution Control (PPPA) and Air Pollution Control (PPPU).
• Certified Building Energy Manager, Industrial Energy Manager, and Lead Auditor for ISO 14001.
• Strong knowledge and application of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental (K3L) practices.
• Expertise in air and water pollution control, including identifying sources, evaluating pollution levels, and designing control equipment and monitoring plans.
• Proficient in hazardous waste (B3) management, including waste categorization, risk assessment, and minimization planning.
• In-depth understanding of environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills to manage teams and interact with stakeholders.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Commitment to sustainability and the ability to develop and implement environmental policies and programs.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills for environmental monitoring and decision-making.
• Willing to be relocated to Morowali, Central Sulawesi with roster schedule.
