Job Summary 

 

This candidate will play two roles:

• As a MCI engineer: 

To assist reporting manager developing and implementing a culture of continuously improving manufacturing, utilizing lean and automation concepts across the vendor base in order to deliver quantifiable improvements in process, quality and safety, and financial benefits.

• As a PE engineer: 

To follow up on quality issues found. To assist and support the Quality and Safety team to handle/manage quality and safety issues (e.g. Intervention test failure, customer complaint, etc.) at factory level; 

To work with factory to ensure produced products meet all TMS/Client quality and safety requirements;

To work with tool maker and factories to ensure that tools and manufacturing processes are suitable to make high quality and safe product

Job Responsibilities

As a MCI engineer:

• Lead & execute actions that will result in goals and KPIs being achieved and on time under reporting manager’s instruction

• Work with vendor responsible to develop, prioritize and implement plans for continuous improvement initiatives; 

• Facilitates and participates in cross-functional teams with vendors to identify process changes that will improve ability to maximize automation capabilities

• Improve productivity and speed to market in all strategic vendors, without compromising safety and quality standards.

• Particpates lean audit activities and follow-up with every stakeholder for audit improvement

• Prepare & carry out continuous improvement training for factory employees in support of improvement initiatives

• Quantify the results and benefit of continuous improvement

• Ad hoc project from reporting manager

As a PE Engineer

• Follow up on quality and safety issues found during inspection and Feasibility/Intervention testing at factory level. Conduct, facilitate, advise on corrective action and preventive action preparation in product failure and defect analysis and monitor their effectiveness in implementation, in order to prevent any recurrence 

• Provide support and follow up on TMS quality and safety initiatives

• Conduct necessary activities both pre and during production to identify production quality issues early in the production cycle, & monitoring & verifying factory solutions

• Manage the oversight of the tool manufacturing process and report on tool fabrication if /when issues arise.

• Organize and participate in mold revision meetings with factories / tool makers and be responsible for sign off approval

• Monitor production starts up, including review of first off molded components

• Work with factories and tool maker to get thing right first time in order to consistently meet quality expectations

• Facilitate problem resolution in factories monitor their effectiveness and advise on corrective actions

• Productivity Improvement and quality enhancement – quantified measurement

• Reduce leadtime/speed to market

• Improve levels of automation capabilities

Qualifications/Experience

• 2 years experience in Continuous Manufacturing deployment and transformation

• Experienced/demonstrated ability to solve problems systematically utilizing scientific methodologies and process focus. 

• Capability to plan and drive change in a fast paced and ever changing environment, influence skills essential

• Ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate responsible team and others

• Experienced in Asian Manufacturing of high volume-fast changing consumer products

Job Knowledge/Skills

• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and tools (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Value Stream Management, etc.)

• Analytical with strong statistics background

• High proficiency in both written and spoken Chinese and English

Education

• Degree holder in relevant curriculum preferred
