About the role

We are seeking a talented Electrical Engineering Officer to join our team at PT Marcopolo Shipyard in Batam, Riau Islands. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the electrical systems of our state-of-the-art shipyard operations.

What you’ll be doing

1. Providing technical support and maintenance for all electrical systems, including generators, motors, lighting, and control systems

2. Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues, and implementing appropriate solutions

3. Overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems

4. Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical infrastructure

5. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise electrical systems and processes

6. Ensuring compliance with all relevant safety, regulatory, and environmental standards

7. Providing training and mentorship to junior electrical engineering team members

What we’re looking for

1. Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

2. Minimum 5 years of experience as an Electrical Engineering Officer or in a similar role within the shipbuilding/maritime industry

3. Proven track record of successfully managing electrical systems and projects

4. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills

5. Strong working knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and best practices

6. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings

7. Experience with electrical system design, installation, and maintenance

8. Familiarity with computer-aided design (CAD) software and electrical control systems

9. Excellent communication and teamwork skills
