As the Conservation and Restoration Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing and implementing conservation and restoration initiatives within the organization. Your role will involve developing and executing concepts, strategies, procedures, managing projects to promote biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable land management.

Key Responsibilies

• Conservation Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive conservation strategies and action plans aligned with organizational objectives. Identify priority areas for conservation, set targets, and establish monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track progress.
• Restoration Projects: Lead the planning, implementation, and management of ecosystem restoration projects. Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and achieve desired conservation outcomes.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, local communities, and other relevant stakeholders to foster partnerships and ensure active participation in conservation and restoration efforts. Facilitate stakeholder engagement workshops, consultations, and capacity-building activities.
• Research and Analysis: Conduct scientific research including proposal development, analyze data, and integrate best practices into conservation and restoration strategies. Stay updated with the latest research and advancements in conservation science to inform decision-making processes and project design.
• Project Report: Contribute to the development of a donor report pertaining to the conservation and restoration efforts.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Conservation Biology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in conservation and restoration projects, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of conservation principles, restoration techniques, and sustainable land management practices.
• Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations, policies, and standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use scientific research and data to drive decision-making processes.
• Proficiency in using GIS software, statistical analysis tools, and other relevant software applications.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility to travel to project sites and participate in fieldwork as required.
