Lowongan Kerja Jakarta Raya Posisi Climate Change Officer di United Nations World Food Programme Indonesia (UNWF)

Under the overall guidance of the WFP Representative/Country Director and the Deputy Country Director, and the direct supervision of the SO2 Head, the Climate Change Officer is expected to work collaboratively with WFP programme to support the development of WFP’s climate portfolio, building upon its existing programmes and expertise in Indonesia. This will include: 

•  Policy and stakeholder mapping; 
• Consultations with relevant stakeholders;
• Analyzing and collecting data/information relevant to climate change; 
• Supporting the conceptualization and technical support for high quality proposals and concept notes, and
• Supporting management of the existing climate change related programmes, ensuring their coherence and alignment

Specifically, the consultant will focus on the following tasks:

1. Contribute towards identifying WFP Indonesia’s potential engagement in climate change adaptation with a specific focus on risks to food security and nutrition. 
2. Support development of plans and design of climate change adaptation and/or climate risk management interventions with a clear rationale that addresses food security, nutrition, incorporating any analyses undertaken and identifying tangible synergies with existing programme activities and policies. 
3. Complementing existing scoping efforts, conduct a desk review to identify WFP Indonesia’s potential engagement in climate change adaptation with a specific focus on risks to food security and nutrition. The assessment would include, but not be limited to:
a. a review of the climate change problem and projected impacts, key factors of vulnerability, and barriers to adaptation in Indonesia.
b. a review of national policies and priorities (including the Nationally Determined Contributions, the National Adaptation Plan, the RPJMN, etc.) and existing initiatives in climate change adaptation, particularly in the context of food security and nutrition.
c. the preparation of a matrix of potential partners, which would include Government, UN Agencies, donors, development banks, 1/NGOs and research institutions.

4.Develop briefs based on the findings from the desk review and/ or assessments and manage documentation of existing policies, plans, studies and others as relevant. 
5.Based on a review of WFP’s climate and disaster risk reduction programmes, provide technical inputs to a strategy for identification and engagement of partners, monitoring windows of opportunities with Government and donors.
6.Provide project management support to programmes and projects related to climate resilience, including the Consolidated Livelihood Exercise for Analyzing Resilience (CLEAR) ensuring a coordinated approach with wider programmes that complies with WFP standards and procedures. 
7.Research and analyse policy and operational issues to support senior colleagues in the development of policies, programmes and activities

8.Support coordination with relevant teams to engage in national policy dialogue on climate change, working groups, and coordination platforms across Government and UN/INGO partners.
9.Facilitate the organization of meetings between WFP management and partners to discuss climate change and its projected impact to food security and nutrition, and funding opportunities, including through preparation of content and reporting.
10.Facilitate the planning and organization of stakeholder consultations to collect information and data as evidence to inform the design of plans, concept notes and proposals.
