About The Role:
As a Backend Tech Lead, you will oversee the team’s development efforts, ensuring efficient task distribution and adherence to DOKU’s technology standards. You will drive technical excellence by coaching engineers, sharing best practices, and conducting one-on-one sessions to align team members with company values and product ownership. Additionally, you will translate product requirements into scalable solutions, manage blockers, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality backend systems

What You Will Do:

• Develop in-depth knowledge of product business and technical flows end-to-end.
• Oversee a team and distribute tasks effectively.
• Formulate strategies to improve team processes.
• Conduct one-on-one sessions to align team members with company values and reinforce product ownership.
• Coach on DOKU technology standards and ensure team adherence.
• Share technical best practices within the team and with external parties (e.g., code review, scalable architecture, OWASP, Sonar).
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality backend solutions by resolving blockers, coaching developers through pair programming, and ensuring tickets meet acceptance criteria.
• Transform product requirements into well-defined technical solutions by assessing effort, breaking down tasks, and defining tickets with clear technical acceptance criteria.

What We Are Looking For:

• Min. Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, Technical Engineering, or related major.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Java Developer, Backend Developer
• Expertise in backend development, particularly with server-side languages (Java)
• In-depth understanding of system architecture and scalable backend solutions
• Experience with containerized applications, such as Kubernetes
• Experience working with agile methodology
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Experience with RESTful, Microservice, Message Broker, or API
• Experience with OWASP Secure Coding Practices
• Experience with source code management tools such as Git
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices
• Leadership and team management skills
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Proactive and innovative mindset
• High adaptability and responsiveness to change
• Willing to work from the office in Jakarta
