Job Roles and Responsibilities

The Sales Assistant Key Account Manager will provide a pivotal role in the growth and profitability of the Company as the single point of contact to help develop and drive sales with key customers both internally and externally (B2B). The candidate will manage the business development relationship for a wide portfolio of products which include fatty acids, glycerin, soap noodles.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all activity conducted by requirement of quality, food safety, feed safety, environment, occupational health and safety.

  2. Responsible for supporting the business development of Internal and External B2B Customers to help optimize profit for the Company. To partner effectively with the customer to drive and manage new sales opportunities to cash generation.

  3. Contract – To ensure all contracts are agreed/signed before commencement of supply.

  4. R&D Approvals – Overview/Manage of sample database tracking ensuring that the customer receives the samples on time. Help Drive/ Facilitates the R&D approvals with the customer to ensure the timelines are met.

  5. Specification – To ensure that all specifications are agreed/sighed before commencement of supply. Interface with Category/R&D/Procurement to understand in depth supply chain/delivery requirements/applications and future opportunities.

  6. Order Management/ Allocation – Liaise with Company’s Global Buyer to receive allocations by country. Support/Track the Conversion of Allocation to Purchase Order and management of volume gaps by customer/country. Follow up on rolling forward forecast schedules from customers and price/volume variances Stock Management.

  7. Stock Management – Support the movement of excess stock balance as informed by Sales Operations. Attend Daily/Weekly planning calls with Sales Operations.

  8. Financial – Ensure Payment on Time in Full from finance with follow up. Ensure Supplier onboarding and determine credit limit/risk/compliance check for each new customer.

  9. Sales & Operations – Input of sales forecast and opportunity into the S&OP cycles Sales Forecast. Develop rolling 3 month and 12 month Sales forecasts by Customer for input into the S&OP cycle. Input of business development opportunities into S&OP cycles Sales forecast

  10. Customer Complaints – Management of customer complaints with external customers. Provide complaint information for Customer Complaint Form to Sales Operations. Ensure customer satisfaction by helping to support the improvement of Customer Service KPI’s.

  11. Business Development – Support in the driving of top line Sales Growth with Internal and External Customers. Interface with R&D/Category on New Product Development projects to be the Supplier of Choice. Manage the customer relationship from idea/opportunity/approval to order generation. Create pipeline of new opportunities

  12. Market Intelligence – Review of ICIS/Oleoline market price and trends.

  13. Sales Performance – Review Profit by Top Customers. Ensure sales of optimized basket of outputs to customers to maximize profitability.

  14. Sustainability – Develop roll out plan aligned with Company’s Sustainable Living Plan. Company’s Country roll out and External Customer

Skills and Key Requirements

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree/Post Graduate Degree in any field.

  • Degree in Business-Sales/Marketing (3-5 years working experience).

  • Experience in leading and managing projects.

  • Oleochemical Industry experience preferred.

  • Product knowledge in oleochemical and Project Management Skills

  • Have basic knowledge about ISO 9001; Sistem Jaminan Halal, Kosher, FSSC 22000, GMP+B2, ISO14000, OHSAS 18001

  • Very strong communication skills especially in English (mandatory for dealing with customers)

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Highly numerate and analytical

  • Self-confident and Excel and Word skills

  • Ability to respond and deliver under pressure

  • Team player with positive attitude

  • Understanding of logistics/shipping incoterms

  • Experience in leading and managing projects.

  • Building internal and external network
