This role of Assistant Procurement Manager-Capex & Utilities shall be responsible for the Sourcing Strategy development, implementation, and leading procurement for the cluster specifically for Capex and Utilities of Indonesia & ANZ.  This role is expected to deliver against Unilever’s Capex, MRO & Utilities strategy related to new technology, innovation and automation that is deployed directly/ indirectly across the value chain from a Procurement standpoint. Another key part of the role is to support the Cluster Procurement Manager in delivering KPIs on Cost and Cash, Quality, Service, Innovation and Sustainable Living. Key stakeholders for this role are Indonesia & ANZ Engineering team, SUIT Teams, factory engineering, R&D across the cluster.

The role is expected to enhance the overall ‘cost and service’ delivery of the existing organization via leveraging Unilever scale, brand, technology, data Volume consolidation, supply base optimization and prioritizing higher impact spend areas and best practices.

What can you expect from the role?

Key Accountabilities

• Support Cluster Procurement Manager in developing and executing Capex, MRO & Utilities Sourcing Strategy, annual spend of circa ~€200M for all manufacturing sites across Indonesia & ANZ.

• Sourcing of Capex, MRO & Utilities portfolio in a complex, multi-location and multiple stakeholder environment

• Understand the business needs related to Utilities and Decarbonization program, and bring deep expertise and insights across the value chain and supply base to translate the business requirements into effective future-fit procurement strategies

• Ability to lead sourcing of high value complex deals.

• Negotiation planning and execution ability- Ability to benchmark costs, develop negotiation plans and carry out hard negotiations to get Best value deals for Unilever

• Good understanding of manufacturing process, emerging tech led solutions.

• Deep understanding of Procurement processes related to Capex, MRO & Utilities portfolio.

• Established track record of delivering KPIs under tough working environment/ market conditions.

• Good knowledge of Supply base (Cluster/ Global) for Capex, MRO & Utilities portfolio

• Resilience and Risk Management in Prevailing tough business situation

• Partnering with Suppliers: Select, manage and motivate suppliers to deliver Value to UL business via Joint collaborative efforts (UL to be 1st customer of choice for sharing innovation, cost reduction ideas) 

• Driving Sustainability, Supplier Diversity and Digitization agenda from Procurement perspective

• Portfolio Market intelligence enabling strategic sourcing decision making.

• Conduct Supplier Capability and Capacity studies enabling continuous supplier evaluation / new supplier selection.

• Lead Supplier relationships and implement Partners with Purpose strategy with critical suppliers

• Ensure Portfolio fundamentals (i.e. data consistency, data insights, recurring stakeholder communications, contracts, etc.) are all put in place

• Manage Utilities price forecast, estimate risks and create risks mitigation plans

Business Relationship management

• Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers and Procurement.

• Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and suppliers ensuring quick response to changing market scenarios and business needs.

• Develop an effective Supplier Relationship program, deploy the same in the cluster.

Does this sound like you?

• Engineering graduate from any discipline (Post Graduation will be an added advantage)

• Total experience 8-10 years, out of that minimum 5 years’ experience in Capex,MRO & Utilities procurement (Sourcing, decarbonization project experience will be an added advantage) 

• Experience in implementing Utilites and Sustainability Capex related projects is a plus.
