About the role

We, PT. Sumitomo Electric Industries Consulting Jakarta are seeking an experienced Purchasing & Export Import to join our group company at PT PT. Sumiden Sintered Components Indonesia (SSI) on a contract basis and/or to be permanent employee. This role will be based in our Cikarang office and is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of procurement and export-import functions, supporting both local and international business activities. You will play a key part in the company’s supply chain operations, cost management, and ensuring compliance with export-import regulations.

The Tasks and Responsibilities :

• Manage KPIs and Service Levels: Oversee and ensure the quality, delivery, and availability of goods, particularly those related to production including raw materials, supporting materials, machinery, and equipment.
• Purchase Order (PO) Management: Review and approve purchase orders (PO) to ensure proper documentation and alignment with operational requirements.
• People & Performance Management: Supervise the procurement team, ensuring that their performance aligns with organizational goals and objectives.
• Export/Import Compliance: Stay updated on export/import regulations, ensuring that all transactions comply with government requirements and international trade laws.
• Document Management: Create, manage, and control export/import documentation to ensure timely arrivals, cost-effective transactions, and compliance with regulations.
• Government Relations: Liaise with government agencies and auditors regarding export/import processes and documentation.
• Cost Management & Risk Reduction: Implement cost-reduction programs and strategies, including risk management measures, to optimize procurement and logistics processes.
• Project Support: Contribute to new company projects, taking on roles such as project leader or member, ensuring smooth integration of procurement processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Technical, Engineering, or any relevant field related to Export/Import.
• At least 5 years of experience in export/import and procurement, preferably within the automotive industry.
• Strong understanding of export/import procedures and the ability to operate through related online platforms.
• Experience in supplier sourcing for spare parts, machine tools, factory supplies, cutting tools, dies, and outsourcing.
• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers.
• Technical knowledge in product drawing and specifications.
• Excellent proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
• Export/import certification is highly preferred.
• Prior experience in manufacturing environments, particularly within the automotive sector, is a plus.
