Our Actuaries are on the front lines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally. Actuaries support AIG’s businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics and performance measurement. We collaborate with Finance, Claims, Operations, Marketing and Risk Management, among other functions.
About the role
What you need to know
This role will cover the Indonesia requirements and support the SVIP actuarial team on other work within the SVIP (Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines) cluster
Indonesia:
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of actuarial input to regulatory returns
- Provide sign-off on annual statutory actuarial reports, and ensure this is reviewed by an external consultant at least once every 3 years
- Provide local actuarial oversight on technical reserves, working with the regional reserving team to understand business trends
- Provide actuarial sign-off for new product submissions
- Prepare monitoring and evaluation of the company product performance
- Member of Product Development & Investment Committees and Reinsurance Team
- IFRS17 implementation for application from January 1, 2025
SVIP:
- Peer review DVR results, carry out any side analyses needed
- Support the team in budgeting and forecast processes
- Work closely with the SVIP head of actuarial to optimize the quarter-close process
- Support the team with any other ad-hoc projects including pricing exercises, data optimization projects, building monitoring frameworks/dashboards etc
What we’re looking for:
- Degree in actuarial science, math, statistics or related fields
- Having at least 3 years relevant experience in insurance business
- Having FSAI qualification issued by PAI
- Demonstrate a strong analytical capability, good at math and statistics and also passionate about how quantitative analysis can benefit business strategy
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders and possess confidence to speak up with their ideas and convince decision-makers that certain policies are the best options for their business.
- Easy to adapt and able to learn fast on the job
