Responsible:

  • Perform Accounting Functions (journal entries, budgets, financial reports, etc)
  • Monitor Fixed Assets and Physical Inventory
  • Daily oversight of Accounts Receivables – Cash applications, reconciliation with bank, daily collections, customer invoice discrepancy resolution, ensure timely invoicing of customers
  • Daily oversight of Accounts Payables – accurate daily carrier invoice posting, resolve carrier discrepancies daily, timely and accurate communication to carriers on payment related items
  • Prepare monthly financial statements at summary, segment and individual customer levels, ensure accuracy and timeliness of reporting
  • Review actual and YTD results to prior period, prior year, budget and forecast; provide explanations as needed.
  • Support internal customers by serving as point of contact for questions related to financial results
  • Will be part of Car Carrier Logistics Team (Operational Team)
  • Supervise 1 AR Staff and 1 AP Staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field; or any combination of training, education and experience in payroll, bookkeeping or accounting may be substituted when competency in the position is demonstrated.
  • 5-6 years of experience in an accounting role with three years of supervisory experience in financial systems, budget, financial reporting, financial data analysis and auditing.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles. Knowledge of accounting practice and principles, applicable laws, codes and regulations, experience in accounting computer applications.
  • Excellent time management skills and organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and timelines
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) are essential; Excel proficiency required.
  • Experience and proficiency using G/L software.
  • Payroll and data analytics (statistical analysis) experience preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate analytical reasoning, critical thinking, as well as a high level of customer orientation.
  • High level of accuracy
  • Attention to detail
