Position summary

The position will provide leadership and supervision of the Compliance, Anti Money Laundering & Counter Terrorist and Internal Audit function in Indonesia (and additional legal responsibilities if the candidate carries the legal qualifications and experience).   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Compliance, Anti Money Laundering & Counter Terrorist, and Internal Audit Function, manage a team of 2
  • Work closely with different Legal & Compliance teams in Asia and Europe to enforce group policies locally
  • Work closely with the business and provide regulatory advice
  • Act as liaison officer between company and regulator and review regulatory feedback
  • Ensure, monitor, and maintain staff, products and company’s compliance awareness towards policies, prevailing rules or regulations and approved investments parameters or policies
  • Train, communicate and distribute company’s policies, regulatory update to all employees.
  • Keep abreast of market and industry practices as well as prevailing regulation in the industry
  • Monitor company’s regulatory and compliance risk position generally and specifically and to implement risk management effectively align with measurement, complexity, and capability of the company.
  • Perform, monitor, and ensure the implementation of Business Continuity Program (BCP)
  • Ensure all reporting to regulator & BOC as required by regulator are provided in timely manner
  • Coordinate to address regulator & BOC enquiries
  • Perform timely and comprehensive reporting to Group Compliance and Internal Audit.
  • Identify and implement compliance solutions to address non-compliance issues and legal matters.
  • Prepare audit planning, controlling and record all internal audit activities as well as preparing audit findings, conclusion and recommendation to BOC and other stakeholders
  • Work closely with AP Data Privacy Officer to implement data privacy protection locally

AML & Counter Terrorist Responsibilities

  • Conduct AML risk assessment
  • Advising the business on AML/CFT matters
  • Filing Suspicious Activity Reports to the relevant authorities, where required
  • Evaluation of received internal and external audit reports with respect to AML topics
  • Conducting an independent oversight of the controls set by the distribution teams
  • Assist the AFCC team to establish, maintain and oversee the local AML program including the establishment of the appropriate internal safeguards
  • Based on AML Risk Assessment, assist the AFCC team to develop and maintain the internal safeguards and align these with applicable legal requirements
  • Assist the AFCC team to monitor the status of implementation of the Allianz Standard within the Obliged AllianzGI OE and performing any necessary reviews
  • Liaising with the relevant Supervisory Authority and other regulators, supervisors, associations, or other relevant public entities in all matters related to compliance with AML/CTF regulations
  • Collaborate with the Anti-Financial Crime Compliance in the AML/CFT matters

Experience/Qualifications and  Skills

Requirements

  • 10 years’ experience in capital market with at least 5 years in compliance area
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree of Accounting/Legal/Finance
  • Possess a WMI license, open for other capital market licenses but within 6 months has to obtain WMI license

Additional Experience and Skills Required for Covering Legal Matters

  • Local admission to practice or admission to practice in an international jurisdiction, or possession of relevant degree in laws,  with more than 5 years of relevant legal experience, such as:
    • Training by either an international law firm or a sizable local firm with strong international asset management practice, and/or
    • Solid in-house experience as legal counsel in international asset management firms and/or in the asset management division of international banks.

Other skills required

  • Having comprehensive understanding in all aspects of asset management business
  • Be able to be an advisor to ensure the company’s compliance are performed properly
  • Excellent written and spoken English
