• To conduct QA/QC on soil salvaging and land preparation conducted by Mining operation for final waste dump reclamation slope development.

• To ensure sufficient inventories of reclamation materials and equipment are maintained.

• To direct and supervise subordinates and labour contracts conducting reclamation programs.

Main Responsibility

• Develop yearly reclamation material order plan as per current business plan.

• Ensure reclamation land preparation conducted by Mining Dept. follows approved company guideline and promptly contact mining supervisor if found any unconformity practice happen in field.

• Ensure soil salvage program for waste dump expansion conducted by Mining Dept.  follows approved company guideline and annual soil salvage budget and promptly contact mining supervisor if found any unconformity practice happen in field.

• Coordinate necessary support activities with other departments (i.e. mine engineering, mine development, transportation, warehousing, infrastructure, logistics, maintenance) to ensure that work assignments are conducted on time.

• Supervise reclamation soil salvage program and keep having good coordination with Mine engineering, Mine Development and other relevant department to ensure that the actual reclamation soil salvage is meet with the budget and is conducted as per guideline and technical instruction.

• Ensure that field area for reclamation availability, revegetation materials required and reclamation are being properly scheduled and maintained and report revegetation maintenance progress to Sr. Spec. Reclamation on a monthly basis.

• Provide field assistance to the Mine Development Department on the implementation of QA/QC procedure of company Technical Instruction on soil placement on 2H:1V for Reclamation, particularly final regrade and soil placement work

• Ensure that field area for reclamation availibity, revegetation materials required, and reclamation are being properly scheduled and maintained and report revegetation progress to Sr. Spec. Reclamation on a monthly basis.

• Assist other ENV sections or other departments, consultants, governments or any visitors in conducting related survey under direction of Sr. Spec. Reclamation.

• The Specialist Reclamation is responsible to ensure that the following tasks are conducted in accordance with approved schedule and standard operating procedures.

• Ensure that reclamation equipment and tools are being properly inventoried, stored, and maintained and report inventory result to Sr. Spec. Reclamation on a monthly basis.

• Ensure that reclamation materials inventoried, stored, and maintained and report inventory result to Sr. Spec. Reclamation on a monthly basis.

• Ensure that reclamation materials available in the field as required.

• Ensure that reclamation materials storage meets the PTAMNT safety requirements.

• Ensure that soil sampling at permanent reclamation and soil stockpile and send it to external soil laboratory.

• Observation the field revegetation area are required for further maintenance

• Prepare and review the RSMF for the reclamation area which has been treated

• Proper documentation of data collection and field progress activities including erosion controls, hydro seeding, and tree planting.

• Operation and maintenance of Hydroseeder  

• Observation the field vegetation maintenance area are required for further maintenance.

• Prepare and review the RSMF for the revegetation area which has been treated.

• Proper documentation of data collection and field progress activities including reinstalled erosion controls, rehydroseeding, enrichment tree planting, fertilizing, weed controls.

Data Review and Management

• The Specialist Reclamation is responsible to manage documentation and data files and to analyse data for trend analysis.  These responsibilities will include the following:

• Check completeness and accuracy of all erosion controls, hydro seeding, tree planting field books were filled by Reclamation Technicians and documented according to company policies. 

• Check completeness and accuracy of all reinstalled erosion controls, rehydroseeding, and enrichment tree planting and weed controls field books were filled by Reclamation Technicians and documented according to company policies. 

• Contribute in report preparation of the reclamation progress data related to Environmental Department or Company requirements such as weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, yearly and special reports.

• Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate from Forestry, agriculture, Environmental Engineering, Biology or science-related subjects.

• Hold an operational inspector certificate or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position.

• Min.  5 years of mine rehabilitation.
