SUMMARY OF POSITION:

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our EPC project team for a wastewater treatment plant construction project in Jakarta. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mechanical equipment procurement, engineering, and commissioning activities supervised by Senior Mechanical Engineer.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.       Before Purchase Order (BPO) Work

1. Prepare and review Material Requisitions and Technical Specification Sheets for mechanical equipment

2. Review vendor technical proposals and provide technical evaluations for mechanical equipment

3. Participate in technical bid clarification meetings with vendors

4. Participate in vendor selection process

2.       After Purchase Order (APO):

1. Review and approve vendor drawings and technical documents

2. Manage technical communication with vendors to finalize equipment specifications

3. Expedite vendor document submissions according to project schedule

4. Prepare approval documents for client review and coordinate responses to client comments

5. Compile and organize installation instructions and requirements for construction contractors

6. Monitor manufacturing progress and testing activities coordinating with Procurement Team.

7. Review and develop equipment maintenance manuals

8. Review and develop equipment inspection procedures

9. Attend factory acceptance tests as required

10. Supervise equipment commissioning activities

3.       3D Model Coordination

1. Request and obtain necessary mechanical equipment information from vendors for 3D modeling

2. Ensure timely transmission of equipment data to 3D Coordinators and Piping Engineers

3. Review equipment layout and space requirements in 3D model

4. Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve interference issues with 3D Model coordinator

5. Participate in 3D model review meetings

4.       Interdisciplinary Coordination

1. Provide timely mechanical equipment information to Civil Engineering team, including:

• ・Equipment foundation requirements and loads

• ・Anchor bolt layouts and specifications

• ・Equipment access and maintenance space requirements

• ・Embedded plate locations and specifications

• ・Equipment installation sequence requirements

• ・Dynamic loads and vibration considerations

1. Participate in regular coordination meetings with Civil Engineering team

2. Review civil drawings to ensure mechanical equipment requirements are properly incorporated

3. Coordinate with Civil Engineering team for equipment installation methodology

5.       Report and Documentation

1. Provide regular status reports to Senior Mechanical Engineer on design progress, issues, and solutions

2. Develop and maintain project schedules for mechanical design work

3. Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies

4. Report critical technical issues promptly with proposed solutions

5. Document and communicate lessons learned

6. Maintain clear communication channels with all stakeholders

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Fluent business level of verbal and written communication skills in English

2. Ability to effectively interact with others and work independently

3. Familiarity with Microsoft office software

4. Strong personality, positive attitude and ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines

5. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field

6. Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical equipment design for industrial plants

7. Strong knowledge of international engineering standards

8. Knowledge of Indonesian standards and regulations

9. Experience in equipment vendor technical evaluation and management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in wastewater treatment plant projects

2. Experience in offshore equipment vendor technical evaluation and management.

3. Experience in coordination with Civil, Process, Piping and Electrical engineers

4. Familiarity with EPC project execution
