Description:

Under the management of of Yayasan Teman Dan Keluarga Telunas, English Teacher is responsible for curriculum development and instruction in English courses for children, teens, and adults in surrounding Telunas island. A strong emphasis will be placed on dialogue and vocabulary and increasing their confidence in communication in English

About Our Yayasan

Yayasan Telunas is a foundation which was built in 2022 started by a group of people who committed to continue to impact community development after Pandemic Covid – 19. Yayasan Telunas exist to initiate and facilitate impact that is holistic and generational in the communities and geographies of our partner organizations. We assess community and environmental needs and provide that information to partner organizations. We also facilitate the collecting and distribution of donations and volunteered resources through programs and activities and providing timely reporting. We believe in the values of our yayasan : Process Oriented (Patiently in building independence and initiative) Partnering (work through partner organizations) People Focused (Creating long term healthy relationships to give generational impact.

Job Responsibility:

1. Willing to working under Yayasan Telunas; the foundation of Telunas Resorts

2. Understanding the Yayasan’s vision, culture, and values as the basis of establishing English courses and training.

3. Serving the young generation to learn English and communities that have a partnership with Yayasan Telunas, with a humble and hungry heart.

4. Yayasan Telunas believe in safety and rigor in our learning and work environment.

5. This teacher will promote an atmosphere for praise and encouragement, never shame and discouragement so that the learners feel safe to try, learn and explore. This teacher will create rigorous lessons for learning and growth as well as managing a classroom setting for optimal growth and learning.

6. Understanding that learning is best done through observation, mini-lessons, practice, and feedback on a loop. We do not encourage rote memorization or perfect grammar in conversational English. We do encourage polite, courageous efforts in learning.

7. Understanding that restlessness or unengaged behavior of staff or community students usually comes from boredom or unattainable standards, this teacher seeks to create creative, engaging learning materials. Lessons will be created holding the learner’s current level and the standard of learning in tension, neither dominating or defeating the other.

8. Prepare and proctor assessments (emphasizing dialogue, interviews, and simulations) with rubrics (which have been explained, modeled and taught prior to the assessment).

9. Create and use rubrics that include both language and culture in communicating English as a second language.

10. Mark and provide appropriate feedback on oral and occasionally written work

11. Work with Yayasan Telunas to devise, write and produce new material, including audio, visual, and real-life manipulatives.

12. Undertake administrative tasks such as scheduling, keeping student competency records and attendance records, along with assessing the program and reporting regularly to Yayasan Telunas.

13. Completing all additional tasks as assigned by the yayasan Management.
