Chemonics International Inc., a US-based international development consulting firm with experience operating in 150 countries, is preparing for upcoming solicitations from USAID. We are seeking technical experts for an anticipated climate change adaptation activity under design. The five year, $20 million project aims to improve urban climate and disaster resilience in Indonesia by supporting the government at all levels; working directly with communities and the private sector; and helping key stakeholders to mobilize financing and develop, disseminate, and utilize better climate change information.

Priority long-term technical lead positions for application review under this advertisement are:

• Urban Resilience Governance Lead
• Climate Finance Team Lead
• Climate Data Solutions Team Lead
• Nature Based Solutions Team Lead

This position will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Qualifications: 

• Advanced degree in relevant field preferred
• Minimum seven years of professional experience in development
• Demonstrated leadership in urban climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction.
• Experience with the government of Indonesia desirable, or at a minimum, an appreciation of how the government operates.
• Strong ability to engage constructively and diplomatically with a wide range of government and non-governmental actors with divergent perspectives and interests.
• Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
• English language fluency required; Indonesian language proficiency desirable.
