Job Description

As our Retail Ops Excellence Manager, you will be a core enabler of our Retail Team by streamlining an important part of our operations, facilitating back-office governance and strengthening local usage of Alibaba’s end-to-end retail back-office management platform.
Guided by the motto of ‘Support, Anticipate, and Control” this role is central to ensuring that operational excellence, process compliance and profitability control come together to drive business resilience and safety.

Furthermore, you will also collaborate with our Regional Retail Ops Excellence in aligning local operational frameworks with regional standards, rolling out system enhancements and contributing to the development of best practices as well as our SOPs library across markets.
We are looking for a new team member who consistently does what’s right, embodying the core value of supporting others, anticipating challenges and maintaining effective control to drive sustainable growth of our Retail Business Unit.

Job Requirements

What Success Looks Like
In your first 6-12 months, you will:
– Collaborate effectively with our Commercial teams to improve our back-margin submissions, contract accuracy, and billing confirmation metrics
– Develop clear workflows to increase the visibility and accountability of the function in profitability tracking
– Strengthen our Retail SOPs documentation and library
– Collaborate with our Finance, Strategy and Planning teams to enhance financial control
– Identify and implement ways to reduce back-office workload through process improvements
– Drive ad-hoc and on demand initiatives leading to measurable impacts to our Retail BU

What You Bring
The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter with a solution-oriented mindset and a strong sense of ownership, eager to continue shaping this role within our experienced Retail operations team. You thrive in cross-functional environments, are comfortable with ambiguity and are unafraid to take initiative or get hands-on when needed.
Based in Jakarta, you can navigate between small details to broader business logic and while ensuring smooth daily operations, you will proactively identify areas of improvement.
Qualifications :
– Minimum 5 years of experience in back-office operations, finance or business process management, preferably within the Retail or e-commerce industry. Knowledge of trading terms and back-margin mechanisms is expected.
– Solid organizational skills set with proven ability to drive process or workflow optimization, document processes clearly and manage projects. High attention to detail and a proactive mindset for simplifying complex topics.
– Advanced proficiency in Excel is required. Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis is a strong advantage. Experience using backend systems, financial reconciliation tools or internal control frameworks is preferred.
– Strong analytical thinking with experience using data visualization platforms such as Power BI or Google Data Studio. Ability to turn data into actionable insights with creativity and clarity.
– Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with Finance, Commercial, Strategy and Planning teams.
– Fluency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia is a must.
