About the role

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Jr. Sous Chef to join the culinary team at the Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort. As a Jr. Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of our kitchen operations and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests. This is a full-time position based in beautiful Bali.

What you’ll be doing

  • Assisting the Executive Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen
  • Preparing and cooking a variety of high-quality dishes using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients
  • Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Supervising and training kitchen staff to maintain the highest levels of efficiency and performance
  • Collaborating with the culinary team to develop new and innovative menu items
  • Monitoring inventory and stock levels, and placing orders as needed
  • Providing excellent customer service and responding to guest inquiries and requests

What we’re looking for

  • At least 2-3 years of experience as a Jr. Sous Chef or in a similar culinary leadership role
  • Formal culinary training and certification, such as a diploma or degree in Culinary Arts
  • Exceptional cooking skills and a deep understanding of various cuisines and cooking techniques
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire kitchen staff
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills
  • Passion for creating innovative and visually appealing dishes
  • Fluency in English and a willingness to learn Indonesian
