Objective

The Project and Mechanical Engeneering Asst Manager is responsible for the new project section, daily building maintenance and all machines and electrical maintenance. This includes planning, performing, and finalizing projects according to deadlines and within the budget, defining project’s objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle, getting the resources and coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors to deliver projects according to the plan. 

The Project and Mechanical Engeneering Asst Manager will also be ensuring machines and equipment such as generators, compressors, air conditioners, exhaust fans, drink water installation and dispensers, LPG gas to run normally as well as guaranteed electricity and water supply for operational purposes. 

Responsibilities and Management:

• Responsible for managing three sections: new & urgent project, daily building, machine and electrical maintenance. Planning, organizing, prioritize tasks and communicating the expectations of the result of the project to everyone within the department and deliver incredible results.
• Daily inspection of the buildings on the Compound as quality control of building to make sure all areas are in excellent condition, safe and well equipped. If it is not perfectly in function, the Division head is contacted to prioritize solving plans with tasks. 
• Make plans for the maintenance of electricity, air conditioners, drink water treatment and dispensers, generators, as well as monitoring noise and air pollution caused by generators
• Ensure all electrical appliances meet HSE standards 
• Make a cost budget for maintenance work, monitor every work done by the maintenance team and create a report on the results of the work 
• Conducting inspections on all electrical equipment, panels and sub-panels, and instructing the team to make repairs in case of damage in the Production and non-Production areas
• Ensure the maintenance team uses PPE at work
• Regularly inspect the generator once a week and assist the generator vendor when performing monthly service
• Carry out new electrical installations if there are additional rooms or buildings 

Conducting regular water checks at spring water sources and all water pipe installations in the company and making repairs if there is damage to water pumps, pipe leaks and water faucets

• Quick action and report for repairs needed from Production and other departments with Production and safety orders are prioritized
• Prepare schedule, expenses/budget and drawings on irregular projects
• Make schedule of regular projects 6 months ahead
• Develop and define project success criteria to introduce to the team and have incorporated throughout the whole project
• Communicate with section head about the status report
• Ask for design approval before executing a project, apply for approval of projects from the general manager
• Support development of employees by teaching and learning
• Environment awareness and follow regulations, company’s policies, values, goals and strategy

Administration. 

• Develop a realistic yearly budget together with the division manager that reflects all needs of the department and not over extended its resources. 
• Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommended budget changes when necessary.
• Maintain a record of project and electrical materials during the year so requirements can be considered in the future.
• Provide monthly report to division manager and report a monthly budget to the finance department. 
• Develop schedule with timeline and milestones for regular and irregular projects. Follow up project milestones and results

Feedback. 

• Providing forums about project and electrical works and maintenance through written and verbal communication between department head and users. 
• A confidential feedback survey for top management once a year. 

Report to Shared Service Manager 

• Through daily report, meetings, and email. Inform the division head of the finalization of the building, machine and electrical maintenance projects
• Finalized special requests and follow up on complains

 

Professional Requirements 

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

• Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering bachelor degree
• Management skills: planning and organizing skills, ability to prioritize tasks, motivation skills and service minded
• Communication skills in both speech and writing in Indonesian and English.
• Computer skills of writing reports and communicate via email
• Knowledge about building and engineering with an excellent sense of esthetic building and details
• Knowledge about finance and budgeting
• Knowledge about the safety measures
• Ability to work under pressure situations to meet deadlines.
• Technical drawing skills or CAD and mathematics
• Time management of follow schedule, solving construction problems and respond to feedback.
• Equipped with Certification of Competency in HSE Electric, Certification of Competency in Air Pollution reesponsible, Certification of Competency in Genset Operator and Maintenance, and internal audit
• Understand the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System 
• Understanding emergency response 
• Understanding ISO 14001

A description of the work environment

The Compound is naturally built by natural materials (Wood, Bamboo and Alang-alang). The areas around the compound have to be reached in all weathers. It includes a big garden of different buildings and facilities. The buildings have to be reached on their high level on the roof for inspection. The weather conditions can vary from rainy to humid, sun and heat. The office is an open spaced area with working stations, where interaction in between employees takes place. The office is air conditioned.
