1. Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (at minimum) in Engineering, typically in Mechanical, Industrial
• A Master’s Degree in Engineering Management or a related field may be preferred.
• Additional certifications or courses in manufacturing processes, utilities management, or project management can be an advantage.

2. Professional Experience

• 5+ years of relevant work experience in manufacturing, utilities management, or a related technical field.
• Involvement in design, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing and utility systems (e.g., electrical, water, HVAC, steam, compressed air, etc.).
• Experience in project management, from concept to execution, including resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Proficiency in managing large-scale maintenance and operation projects in industrial or utility environments.
• Leadership experience, potentially managing a team of engineers or technicians.

3. Technical Skills

• Manufacturing Systems Knowledge: Understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC machining, additive manufacturing, assembly lines) and their integration with utilities.
• Utility Management: Knowledge of critical utility systems, including electrical distribution, water treatment, HVAC, compressed air systems, and waste management.
• Automation and Control Systems: Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and other automation tools used in both manufacturing and utility operations.
• Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma: Proficiency in process improvement methodologies for reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and improving quality.
• Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Experience using CAD software for designing system layouts or modifications.
• Energy Efficiency: Expertise in energy optimization and sustainability practices in both manufacturing and utility systems.

4. Certifications & Training

• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar certification may be beneficial.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt for process improvement. GMP  &  FSSC
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification could be advantageous for those involved in managing cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge in safety regulations (OSHA, local regulatory standards) for maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental laws.

5. Soft Skills

• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address manufacturing bottlenecks, equipment failures, or utility system issues.
