We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Merchandising & Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Jakarta. This role is critical to sourcing, curating, and managing our product offerings, and we prefer candidates with experience in supply chain or forwarding to ensure smooth logistics and inventory management.

Role Summary:
As the Merchandising & Purchasing Specialist, you’ll be responsible for product selection, supplier management, and inventory optimization. Your experience in the furniture or interior design industry, along with supply chain expertise, will help streamline our purchasing process and enhance our customer experience. Proficiency in Chinese is required to effectively manage supplier relations, particularly with international vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Selection & Curation: Collaborate with design and product development teams to curate a premium product range aligned with customer demand and market trends.
  • Supplier & Purchasing Management: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms to ensure product quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain Optimization: Leverage supply chain experience to optimize inventory flow, ensuring accurate demand forecasting, stock levels, and smooth logistics coordination.
  • Cost & Profit Analysis: Conduct cost and profitability analysis to support budgeting and financial planning.
  • Market & Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor strategies, and customer preferences within the furniture and interior design sectors.
  • Product Presentation: Work with marketing and content teams to display products attractively and accurately on the website, with clear descriptions and high-quality visuals.
  • Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with forwarders and logistics partners to ensure efficient shipment and delivery, minimizing delays and maintaining inventory flow.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain high quality standards for all products, ensuring they meet our brand’s premium image.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in merchandising, purchasing, or supply chain roles, preferably within furniture, e-commerce, or forwarding/logistics companies.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) and English for effective communication with international suppliers.
  • Supply Chain Knowledge: Experience in supply chain management and familiarity with logistics and forwarding processes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong financial and analytical skills for cost projections, demand forecasting, and inventory management.
  • Industry Knowledge: Background in the furniture or interior design industry, with a keen sense of market trends and customer needs.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), with experience using inventory and e-commerce management systems.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring accurate inventory data, product presentation, and quality control.
