Role Summary:

Communication specialist will be a pivot role in terms of writing, documenting, and publishing not only event but also sharing the best practice from Kalimantan in internal and external media. Furthermore, Communication Specialist is responsible to engaging closely with media and other stakeholders like government offices and university, to make sure they can convey the right story that representing TF.

Responsibilities:

• Performs specific assignments of limited scope, within established policies and procedures.
• Assists in the coordination and development of internal and/or external communication materials (newsletters, press releases, internet/intranet pages, annual and interim financial reports) and events, broadening knowledge and further developing skills.
• Provides general customer relations information to external clients or customers, usually not dealing with sensitive subject matter.
• May assist in providing communication consultation to internal departments.

Requirements:

Education / Experience

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related field preferred
  • Experienced with web design, publication, and graphic design
  • Experience with gathering and editing video
  • Experience in the education sector would be an advantage but not essential
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in project management, experience in large scale program (both coverage and budget management), INGO/NGO would be advantageous

Specific knowledge and aptitude

  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in writing and editing
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Demonstrated success in implementing strong communication campaigns
  • Thorough knowledge of media operations
  • Extensive knowledge of social media and emerging communication platforms
  • Competencies in desktop publishing skills and graphic production and design
  • Ability to adapt to emerging technologies
  • Possess problem solving skills and reasoning ability
  • Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and community members in a positive manner
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues that supports a cooperative work environment

Technical Business/Philanthropy understanding

  • Strong administrative skills with high capacity for attention to detail and organized in work
  • Experience in journalism, communications, public relations, graphic design or related field
  • Works well in multi-cultural environment, with high integrity and responsibilities
  • Ability to work reliably and independently without supervision
  • Willingness to travel frequently to partner districts and provinces.
