Job Summary:

The Head of Accounting & Tax is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire accounting and tax functions of the organization. This position involves strategic oversight of financial reporting, compliance with tax regulations, and the development of policies and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial information. The Head of Accounting & Tax plays a critical role in guiding financial strategy and ensuring the organization’s fiscal health.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the accounting and tax teams.
• Develop and implement accounting and tax strategies aligned with the organization’s overall goals.
• Advise senior management on financial matters, including tax implications, cost management, and financial planning.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial objectives with business operations.

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Review and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team.
• Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
• Lead the development of financial models and forecasts to support business planning.

Tax Compliance and Planning:

• Ensure the organization’s compliance with all local, national, and international tax laws and regulations.
• Lead tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s tax position, including identifying tax savings opportunities and managing tax risks.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of all tax returns, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Liaise with tax authorities and external advisors on complex tax matters and audits.

Internal Controls and Audit:

• Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure comprehensive audit processes.
• Address audit findings and implement corrective actions to improve financial processes.
• Regularly review and update accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and mentor the accounting and tax teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
• Ensure the accounting and tax teams have the resources and tools needed to perform their roles effectively.

Budgeting and Financial Planning:

• Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure accurate and achievable budgets.
• Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and make recommendations for corrective actions.
• Support the CFO in developing long-term financial plans and strategies.

Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including accounting standards and tax laws.
• Identify and manage financial risks, including currency, credit, and liquidity risks.
• Stay abreast of changes in financial regulations and tax legislation, ensuring the organization adapts accordingly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting and tax management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and tax regulations.
• Proven experience in managing large accounting and tax teams.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Placement in or lived in Cikarang area.
