Founded in October 2020, Sungai Watch has been cleaning Indonesia’s most polluted rivers from plastic pollution and operating a cleaning, sorting, and processing operation. Sungai Watch takes pride in its partnerships and collaborations with other brands and companies. We strongly believe that through collaboration, we can grow our impact work and solve Indonesia’s waste management scene. We currently manage 100+ brand partnerships with local Indonesian and international organisations, and we are looking to grow our partnership department. 

Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Partnership Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in expanding our partnership department, taking on new sponsors, partners, and maintaining relationships with existing partners. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, relationship management, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing partners and sponsors. Ensure their ongoing engagement and satisfaction. Tasks include: Following up with partners regularly, sending quarterly reports to each Sungai Watch barrier sponsor, writing and updating sponsorship contracts, preparing and sending invoices, attending sponsorship events. As a Partnership Manager, partner communication/relations is the most important responsibility. 
  • Develop and Execute Partnership Strategies: Identify, develop, and execute strategies to attract new sponsors and partners, ensuring alignment with Sungai Watch’s mission, goals, and values.
  • Prospect Identification: Research and identify potential partners and sponsors. Develop tailored proposals and presentations to secure new partnerships. Organise calls with potential partners to learn about their goals and assess if they align with Sungai Watch values. 
  • Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for all partnership-related inquiries. Communicate effectively with partners, providing regular updates and reports on the impact of their support.
  • Event Coordination: Organise and manage partnership events, including sponsor visits, workshops, and community engagement activities.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and communications team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that highlight partnership opportunities and successes. Also work closely with the data and operations team to make sure sponsored projects are followed through effectively and professionally.
  • Reporting: Track the Sungai Watch database weekly and report on partnership and sponsorship metrics. Provide regular updates to senior management on the status and outcomes of partnership activities.
  • Sustainability and Innovation: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in nonprofit partnerships. Propose innovative ideas to enhance our partnership model and increase impact.
  • Grant research and writing: Stay informed about the most applicable grants for Sungai Watch to apply to. Spend the necessary time researching potential grants, and write grant proposals.  

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in partnership management, business development, or related roles. Experience in the nonprofit sector is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Expert interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Proven track record of securing and managing successful partnerships.
    • Ability to develop and deliver compelling presentations and proposals.
    • Excellent organisational and project management skills.
    • Proficient in using CRM systems and other relevant software.
  • Attributes:
    • Passionate about environmental conservation and sustainability.
    • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
    • Ability to work independently and see projects through to completion without the need for others.
    • Great team player.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Language: Must be native / fluent in English and Indonesian with expert writing proficiency. Bonus if fluent / native in other languages.
