Job Description

As the Marketing Director at Leica Sport Optics, you will play a pivotal role in localizing and executing the global marketing strategy crafted by our home office in Germany across all Sports Optics categories of Hunting, Nature& Lifestyle. Your primary focus will be on revitalizing our brand identity and expanding our market presence in alignment with global directives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Vision and Brand Development: Develop and execute a forward-thinking marketing strategy for Leica Sport Optics in the US that adapts and localizes the global marketing strategy. Reinvent and enhance our brand narrative and market positioning to drive brand awareness, differentiation, and affinity among target audiences.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Champion a deep understanding of customer personas and journeys specific to the premium outdoor, hunting and birding communities. Implement innovative marketing campaigns to enhance customer engagement, satisfaction, and loyalty.
• Digital Marketing Leadership: Oversee all digital marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and content strategy for Leica Sport Optics. Utilize analytics and data-driven insights to optimize campaign performance and ROI.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with Sports Optics Global Marketing Leadership, Sales, Product Development, and other teams to ensure integrated marketing efforts that support brand and demand creation for Leica Sport Optics across all categories of Hunting, Nature & Lifestyle.
• Budget Management: Collaborate on marketing budget planning with the Global Head of Sports Optics and Vice President, Sports Optics. Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively to maximize impact and achieve strategic objectives.

By blending these elements, the Marketing Director at Leica Sport Optics will drive a comprehensive marketing strategy that not only enhances brand identity and customer engagement but also optimizes digital marketing efforts and fosters a collaborative, agile environment within the team.

Additional Responsibilities

• Increase sales and profitability of Leica products supporting all regions as needed.
• Provide comprehensive reporting to communicate regional activities and relevant information to the sales team and upper management.
• Support sales and budgetary forecasting as required by management.
• Consult with dealers on retail operations, including Leica products, inventory mix, merchandising, and in-store events.
• Deliver Leica Sport Optics product training and education to dealers and their sales associates.
• Maintain up-to-date dealer information in a CRM database.
• Represent Leica in a professional and ethical manner as the face of the organization in the marketplace.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in marketing and/or communications within a premium hunting, shooting, or outdoor brand.
• Proficiency in Digital Marketing tools such as Google Analytics, AdWords, Social Media Strategy, CRM, etc.
• Thorough understanding of events and media relevant to the premium Outdoor, Hunting and Birding community.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in advertising, marketing, communications, business, public relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• Dynamic leader with an entrepreneurial mindset for identifying original branding opportunities.
• Effective under pressure, adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Expertise in designing and executing marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
• Genuine passion for the Leica brand
• Strong strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills.
• Experience in budget development and management.
• Capable of independent judgment and decision-making.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and energetic.
• Proficient at conveying a clear message to targeted audiences through various media.

• 40% travel required; 60% remote work from home
