JOB PURPOSE

• The R&D Center of Excellence Head (COE) is responsible for the overall technical leadership and management of an R&D satellite site. This role involves supporting all projects within BCH for their assigned technologies and managing relationships with other COE Hubs, R&D, Product Supply (PS), and third-party vendors. The COE Head also serves as a member of the site’s Leadership Team (LT) and support regional new product activities (as required). This position will lead a cross-functional technical team (e.g., Technology Transfer, Analytical, Central Stability Support, Packaging Engineer, and Process Optimization) that owns assigned technology for the division. The COE Head will provide coaching, development, and vision to their team, ensuring a best in class and motivated and accountable workforce.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

People:

• Establish, coach, and provide vision for site’s technical community fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
• Leverage agile work practices supporting the teams to align and adapt resources to highest enterprise priorities.
• Foster culture of transparency of priorities and metrics empowering every team and employee to take accountability.
• Ensure regular technical forums, workshops, and training sessions are organized to enhance technical expertise and promote cross-functional collaboration.

Technical:

• Owns assigned technology for BCH division acting as architect for development of best-in-class capabilities and talent.
• Leads technical projects, issues resolution, and implementation of solutions for assigned technologies.
• Identify, develop, and maintain best in class Lab facilities leveraging state of the art equipment and methodology to ensure product robustness.
• Champion best practices for technology transfer, design of experiments, and leveraging data science to maximize quality and speed of work.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure the site’s operations meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement continuous improvement strategy leveraging industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the site’s operations.

Others:

• Act as a member of the site’s Leadership Team (LT), contributing to strategic decision-making and providing technical insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with other R&D COE Heads and R&D Operations Leadership Team to align technical objectives with overall business goals and objectives.
• Support regional new product growth plans by leading technical topics for local and regional New Product Development projects.

WHO YOU ARE

• Bachelor’s degree (12+ yrs) or a Master’s Degree (8+ yrs), or a PhD (6+ yrs) experience in the field of science or engineering. International education equivalency to Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD Degree is acceptable. 
• 6+ yrs experience working on OTC/Consumer Health product development with significant expertise in solid dose, liquid dose and drug delivery.
• Requires expertise in manufacturing, product development, processing, and unit operations for OTC and/or Nutritional products.
• Proven track record of delivering technical projects.
