Job Description:

As Regional Automation Engineer you will work with the Automation Engineering team to manage the design and implementation of automation systems for Lazada’s Sortation Infrastructure Network. Be part of Lazada’s amazing growth in South East Asia and harness both existing and emerging technologies to redefine the e-commerce supply chain and retail experience. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following personal attributes:

The primary areas of responsibility of this role are:

• Develop & Refine Automation system design and optimize costs for the End-to-End Supply Chain Network.
• Be knowledgeable and experienced with automation solutions used in the industry and be a Subject Matter Expert for automation in Lazada
• Lead the process to gather business requirements for sortation systems from country teams, propose automation solutions to meet those needs
• Design high level automation system solutions, align those solutions with country teams
• Partner with Procurement to develop the vendor sourcing strategy, review vendor supply chains
• Write technical requirements and scope for RFP’s for automation systems
• Manage the review and analysis of vendor bid proposals, designs, specifications and contracts
• Manage the detail engineering design of automation systems
• Manage and review the vendor documentation required for installation and operation/maintenance, and create quality checklists to ensure vendor compliance to specification
• Oversee the Management of the System Integrators implementation, ensuring automation projects are delivered on time, on budget, to specification
• Work with Operations and HR teams to come up with a training plan to for Automation Go-Live
• Team work – Ability to work as part of a team, with cross functional teams

• Mandarin verbal and written an advantage, for liaising with China based vendors and counterparts
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, or similarly related engineering
• 7+ years’ experience in system design, integration of hardware solutions, robotics, industrial production, or other mechatronics in manufacturing or E-Commerce industry as an engineer

An Intermediate level of proficiency in the following;

• Office Packages: MS Office with advanced Excel data mining and modelling skills
• CAD: AutoCAD 2D, with 3D an advantage
• Data Analytics: SQL, is an advantage
