Department Head position in a role that involves overseeing all legal and regulatory aspects of the company’s operations. You will have a team of subordinates in the Head Office and plantation sites.

Description

• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and permits governing plantation operations in Indonesia
• Provide legal guidance and advice to the management team on a wide range of legal issues affecting the company
• Monitor changes in local, national, and international laws and regulations affecting the plantation industry, and ensure the company’s compliance
• Engage with relevant government agencies, industry associations, and other stakeholders to stay updated on regulatory developments
• Lead the legal litigation process, protect the legal interest and reputation taking into consideration the strategic and business needs in ensuring the long-term sustainability of the company
• Responsible for the licenses and land matters related to the plantation operations
• Oversee the preparation and submission of all regulatory reports, filings, and documentation required by government authorities.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent), and ideally, a Master’s degree or specialized training in relevant areas of law
• Admitted to practice law in Indonesia with a valid license
• At least 15 years of experience in a senior legal role, preferably within the plantation or natural resources industry
• In-depth knowledge of Indonesian legal and regulatory frameworks related to land acquisition, environmental compliance, labor law, etc
• Exceptional English command (verbal and written)
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Proven track record in managing legal teams and handling complex legal matters.
