Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing business development activities in East Java, Central Java and Eastern part of Indonesia, focusing on solenoid valves, pneumatic, controls & software including Industrial Internet of Things.

The Business Development Engineer will be responsible for supporting existing channel partners, direct key accounts, identifying new opportunities, and proposing efficient solutions to customers. This position requires basic understanding of control system, i.e., Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) and ability to propose integrated solution to customers.   

Responsibilities:

  • Grow market share of Emerson Discrete Automation together with channel partners to achieve business target.
  • Acquire and develop key accounts within assigned territory, focusing to OEM; EPC and SI.
  • Performing analysis of customers strategic objectives; serve technical consultation to achieve better understanding of customers’ applications/ needs and provide timely response & professional customer-specific solutions.
  • Deliver regular product presentations to existing and potential key customers in a bid to develop new business. Travel to customer sites to present proposals and resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct product training sessions for channel partners and key accounts.
  • Mitigate and resolve channel conflict.
  • Maintain a high degree of product & technical knowledge in Industrial Automation applications.
  • Perform market intelligence related to business/ technology trends and competition in the market.
  • Represent the Company in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Provide reports and business forecast accurately in timely manner.
  • Conduct quality visit planning and visit report independently to achieve adequate opportunity pipeline.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering/ Mechatronics.
  • Minimum five years business development experience and/or proven successful track record in the selling of control system solutions. Knowledge of software such as SCADA and Edge Computing is an advantage.
  • Strong relationship builder with a strong desire to win against competition.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Trustworthy and highly motivated self-starter.
  • Team player mentality and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Possess own car.
  • Willing to travel visiting customers in other city within assigned territory.
