Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Data Migration Engineer who is passionate about data management and has hands-on experience with Syniti (formerly BackOffice Associates) tools. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting data migration projects, collaborating with senior engineers, and ensuring the successful transfer of data from source systems to target systems using Syniti’s suite of tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior data migration engineers to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Assist in analyzing source data structures and understanding target data models.
  • Utilize Syniti tools, including the Data Stewardship Platform, Data Migration Cockpit, and Data Quality Accelerator, to support data migration initiatives.
  • Create and maintain data mapping documents, ensuring accurate transformation rules.
  • Work on data extraction, transformation, and loading processes using Syniti and other ETL tools.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving data migration issues and errors.
  • Participate in data validation and quality assurance activities to ensure data accuracy post-migration.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, project stakeholders, and clients to provide status updates and address questions.
  • Contribute to documentation of processes, best practices, and lessons learned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong interest in data management, data migration, and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with Syniti tools, particularly the Data Stewardship Platform, Data Migration Cockpit, or Data Quality Accelerator, is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with data mapping, transformation, and validation concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
  • Any additional experience with ETL tools, scripting languages, or data governance is a bonus.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Syniti certifications or related data management certifications, are advantageous.
