As a AML-CFT (Surveillance) Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating surveillance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and industry standards. Your primary focus will be on monitoring the bank’s operations and transactions to identify and prevent potential risks and suspicious activities.

Description

1. Surveillance Operations:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust surveillance programs to detect and prevent fraudulent activities, market abuse, and other non-compliant behavior within the bank.
• Monitor and analyze transactions, trades, communications, and other relevant data sources using advanced surveillance tools and technologies.
• Conduct periodic reviews of surveillance processes to identify areas for improvement and enhance detection capabilities.

1. Compliance Management:

• Stay up-to-date with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the bank’s compliance with all relevant requirements.
• Collaborate with Compliance and Legal teams to interpret and implement regulatory changes effectively.
• Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to surveillance activities and ensure their adherence across the organization.

1. Risk Assessment and Reporting:

• Analyze surveillance data and generate periodic reports to senior management and relevant stakeholders regarding identified risks and potential compliance issues.
• Coordinate with the Risk Management team to assess the impact of identified risks and collaborate on risk mitigation strategies.

1. Incident Response:

• Act as a key point of contact during investigations related to suspicious activities or potential breaches.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, law enforcement, and auditors, as required during investigations.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Compliance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE) is preferred.
• Proven experience (3 – 6 years) in compliance, risk management, or a similar role within the financial industry.
• Solid understanding of financial regulations, market abuse, anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud detection practices.
• Familiarity with financial products, trading operations, and associated risks in a global banking context.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team effectively.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a detail-oriented approach to data analysis.
• Proficiency in utilizing surveillance tools and technologies for monitoring and investigation purposes.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate complex concepts to various stakeholders.
