Job description & requirements

Job Description :

• Maintaining and enhancing the performance of existing database programs
• Create and assisting database development teams in designing new database programs that meet the organization’s data storage needs
• Monitoring databases and related systems to ensure optimized performance
• Writing new support programs and scripts to increase data storage capacity
• Reviewing database and user reports, as well as system information
• Performing debugging procedures on database scripts and programs, as well as resolving conflicts
• Mentoring engineering team and providing them with technical support
• Adhering to best practices in securely storing, backing up, and archiving data
• Documenting processes related to database design, configuration, and performance
• Keeping abreast of developments and best practices in database engineering
• Administer and maintain database security, integrity, and optimization
• Develop and run periodic and requested reports
• Develop new databases and applications
• Develop new databases and applications
• Identify and resolve performance and capacity issues
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery processes
• Maintain associated non-referential data
• Manage user rights and permissions

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’ degree or above in computer programming, computer science or related field
• Applicable licensing, certification, and registration
• A minimum of 5 years experience in database engineering
• In-depth knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and NO SQL
• Extensive experience with database technologies and architecture
• Sound knowledge of best practices in database engineering and data security
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Thorough understanding of database performance monitoring and analysis tools
• Expertise in database server specification, performance tuning, analysis and optimization
• Experience with AWS/GCP/Azure desired
• Strong Experience in database disaster recovery planning and recovery
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex database administration problems
• Ability to work with database developers, engineers, and different operations and applications engineering teams to help them to identify, analyze, and resolve database performance issues
• Experience with MySQL, Elasticsearch, Postgres and/or MongoDB desired
• Team-player, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
