Mechanical technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment, including but not limited to HVAC systems, cooling equipment, and plumbing system.

We are partnering with a data center company who is currently looking for a competent Mechanical Technician to support them in this time of growth.

Description

• Participate in installation, maintenance and modification of critical mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring adherence to change management procedures and timelines to maintain optimal equipment availability for the data center’s operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and conduct sub-assembly repairs on critical mechanical systems and equipment in compliance with relevant procedures to ensure maximum uptime and availability of the data center’s infrastructure.
• Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impact the performance and efficiency of critical mechanical systems and equipment in the data center, ensuring continuous operations and optimal uptime.
• Manage the staging room for mechanical equipment and systems, ensuring timely and efficient deployment and installation.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure safe working practices when handling mechanical components and systems.
• Collaborate closely with IT staff and other cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure maximum uptime and optimal performance of the data center’s critical infrastructure.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 2 years of experience in the data center industry
• Knowledge of critical facilities operations
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environment Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings
