Job description & requirements

Responsibilities:

• Must be capable of modeling hard surface poly and organic models with Maya + Zbrush
• Find solutions in order to find a clear balance between communication and design
• Cropping and optimizing assets using commercial software solutions and in-house tools
• Must possess strong user interface, UX and graphic layout skills, typographic sensibilities
• Able to adapt easily to different styles and detail-oriented
• Works well under deadline pressure and multiple iterations during development process
• Familiar with gaming on mobile
• Knowledge of Freemium games an advantage
• Work with team to define and meet key milestones create task lists and work estimates
• Partner with PMs, engineers, researchers, content strategist & QA, overseeing the implementation of the user experience from product conception to launch – post-launch design support

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to quickly move from one task to another
• Ability to cope under pressure
• Basic knowledge of most areas of the industry
• Be able to take charge as the sole 3D resource of a team
• Good communication skills
• Reliable
• Highly proficient with professional 2D and 3D software (adobe suit, Maya, Max, Z-Brush, Photoshop etc)
• Knowledge of a professional editing suite (Final Cut Pro, Premiere, After Effects)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment where deadlines are essential
• Knowledge of Mudbox, Blender, Houdini, or Adobe Flash
• Relevant experience in creative development using 2D and 3D programs, with multiple shipped products
• Excellent eye for light, shade, color and details

Education and Experience:

• Associate/ Bachelor Degree in Animation, Design, Art or related field or equivalent experience.
• Must have 5 or more years experience in high quality character modeling.
• Good notion of composition rules, proportions, and a good eye for the detail
• Experience in the gaming industry is a plus
• Play a lot of games
• Portfolio/website demonstrating industry leading concept art/illustration skills.
